The Chestermere Mustangs put on a show for their home crowd at the Chestermere Recreation Centre Red on September 25, 2026, dominating the Calgary Bandits with a staggering 8-3 victory.

The Mustangs asserted their dominance from the get-go, outshooting the Bandits 112-25. The Bandits’ goalie, Matteo Castella, was under constant pressure, managing to make 104 saves, but the Mustangs’ relentless offense proved too much for him. On the other end of the rink, Mustangs’ goalie Sawyer Mitchell had a comparatively quieter evening, facing only 25 shots and saving 22.

The powerplay proved to be a crucial component in the Mustangs’ victory, with the team converting 3 of their 9 opportunities. The Bandits, on the other hand, could only capitalize once from their 7 powerplay chances.

Mustangs’ Tyler Huston was a standout performer, netting two goals in the match. The Bandits’ Thane Swampy-Meguinis also scored a brace, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Mustangs’ onslaught.

Looking ahead, the Mustangs will look to continue their winning momentum when they host Hinton at the Chestermere Recreation Centre Red on Sunday, September 27 at 6:00 pm. Following their impressive performance against the Bandits, the Mustangs will undoubtedly enter their next game with high spirits and confidence.
